The international “Watercolours of the Dniester River” competition has been held annually since 2009. Children and young people can enter artistic and scientific works of various ages and thematic categories.
This year’s competition (2021) was marked by the pandemic and the international jury didn’t meet until 18 October, with its Moldovan members being present online only. Arnika participated in this year’s competition by awarding special prizes in the “public events” category to participants from Moldova. Also because of the restrictions resulting from the pandemics, there were not many of them – finally, we selected two projects on the left bank of the Dniester River, near Stroyence: a tour with litter picking especially for the earlier born and tree planting along a small water course. On the right bank of the Dniester River, we chose the “Biological Sunday” event held by the Bretushen high school.
We sent a photographic publication on European flora to all the winners.
