Arnika – Citizens Support Centre, Center for Environment and Eko forum Zenica presented several newly published and forthcoming publications. Presentations were held in mid-June 2017 in Banja Luka and Sarajevo.
The partner NGOs presented a study on environmental permitting system in Bosnia and Herzegovina which offers an analysis of the current environmental permitting system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlight the main shortcomings and serve as a practical guide for implementing an efficient and functional IPPC system, fully compliant with the EU environmental acquis. The second presented publication is a guideline for civic society which walks you through relevant steps of environmental decision-making and administrative processes from initiation (request for permit/decision) to completion (issuance of permit/decision) and provide an overview of procedural requirements and obligations of public authorities. Both publications can be downloaded free of charge in English or in the official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Experts from Arnika and Center for Environment also presented forthcoming report on implementations of the Aarhus Convention in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The full report will be published before the Sixth Meeting of the Parties which will be held in Budva, Montenegro in September 2017. In Banja Luka and Sarajevo we presented preliminary findings and case studies of violation of the Aarhus Convention.
