Using practical examples, they will experience how to prepare and successfully implement a campaign for important issues in the protection of the environment and citizens' health in Serbia.
The project aim is to actively engage young people in Serbia in advocacy processes that will help them to prepare and achieve the goals of their own environmental campaigns in the future. They will also learn how to engage and improve dialogue and cooperation with decision-makers, such as ministries, but also other stakeholders, such as companies and the general public.
This one year long project which includes education, advocacy and communication will result in the implementation of a practical advocacy campaign to protect the environment and the health of citizens in Serbia from toxic phthalates. The aim will be both to verify compliance with regulations adopted in Serbia in 2023 that restrict specific phthalates in consumer goods. This will be done by testing goods for the presence and quantity of phthalates. But also to present and communicate the results to the Serbian public and responsible authorities such as the Ministry. By doing this, we hope that the young participants of the project will gain not only theoretical knowledge, but above all a practical demonstration of environmental protection through an advocacy campaign.
We are working on the project with ALHem, a Serbian NGO that has long been advocating for better environmental and public health protection in Serbia.
