The sustainable development of the city must among others take into account water management – whether it is assurance of drinking water, wastewater treatment or rain water utilization. In connection with building development on the so far unbuilt-up areas and expansion of the city into countryside many problematic issues arise.
The expansion of the built-up areas can among others increase the danger of floods and enormous accrual of demand for water sources as well as amount of waste. At the same time there is a multitude of modern methods and approaches that can be used.
