Also this year, Arnika's team of experts is helping to protect rivers and better water retention in the landscape in Moldova. In order to be of maximum assistance in planning the planting of trees in several localities, we went together with the partner organization Eco-TIRAS to visit local communities. Together we were selecting suitable trees for planting, but also looking for solutions to various problems, such as erosion, landslides of river banks or fluctuations in their levels, fish deaths, contaminated soil, but also the destruction of nature due to increased tourism or lack of finances and equipment. On the occasion of World Biodiversity Day, we also initiated a demonstration calling for state funding for Moldovan national parks and protected areas. You can read more in the article here.
