International POPs Elimination Network (IPEN) and Arnika as its participating organizaiton took part at the Second simultaneous extranordinary meeting of the Conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions, held in Geneva in 28 April–10 May. Hexabromocyclododecane was listed as new persistent organic pollutant (POP) under the Stockholm Convention at that meeting. This photo gallery also captures moments when IPEN advocated for a revised Dioxin Toolkit, with significant contributions from Pat Costner, an internationally recognized expert on dioxins and other unintentionally produced POPs. Alan Watson UK expert representing IPEN advocated for stricter limits for POPs in wastes.
