“The Dniester River is not only water but also ecosystems & its services!” said one of the banners on demonstration in front of the Moldovan parliament on September 30th at 3:30 pm. The goal of the demonstration was to make politicians respond to the current problems of the Dniester River and protected natural areas and take visible actions leading to an improvement.
“We advocate that nature reserves should be financed from the state budget. Therefore, we demand that the current parliament, when adopting the law on the state budget for 2022, provide funds for this,” explains Ilya Trombitsky from the network of river-keepers Eco-TIRAS and one of the organizers of the demonstration, which was attended by 20 people.
