A shut-down medical waste incinerator at Korle Bu hospital

Chickens, goats, dogs, and larger lizards are not the only animals living next to the medical waste of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. People's homes are located just a few meters away from the potentially toxic ash pile full of razors and broken flasks. They have chickens here, who run freely with open access to the contaminated waste. Though the incinerator was shut down almost five years ago, even today it threatens local people's health through the food chain.
