In October 2024, in collaboration with the Clean Air for Ukraine program, we organized a study visit to the Czech Republic for representatives of Ukrainian municipalities and environmental departments from regional administrations. The initiative aimed to connect Ukrainian and Czech municipalities, facilitate the exchange of experiences, and inspire sustainable solutions for the recovery of war-affected regions in Ukraine.
Participants explored a range of practical examples of sustainable development, including landscape restoration, approaches to energy self-sufficiency, or constructed wetland for wastewater treatment and more. They also learned about opportunities for collaboration between municipalities and with the public. Importantly, the study tour fostered new partnerships, paving the way for long-term cooperation in rebuilding Ukraine's war-affected areas.
The program began in Brno with an introductory discussion and networking session. Over the following days, participants visited specific projects across the Czech Republic.
Below, you can find the detailed program of the study tour.
Presentations from the lectures are than available for download in Czech here.
